Waiata House, located in Masterton, New Zealand, is home to the Wise Group, a community-based mental health, addiction and employment service provider.
Waiata, which means ‘song’ in Te Reo Maori, recognizes the historic opera house formerly located on the site. The Wise Group wanted a logo which referenced this musical history, and specifically, the graceful arched windows which were salvaged and placed into the new building. In addition to the logo, I worked with the design team to create directional signage, privacy window decals, and other graphics throughout the building, as well as a full suite of collateral.
In 2013, Waiata House was given a Wellington Architecture Award from the NZ Institute of Architecture.
